MY FACEBOOK

If you want to add me on facebook now is your chance (:
I've made an account that is separate from my real life account, that I will be using to show my cosplays and fashions, and friend people online. It's a lot safer than adding people from your real account, so I'd recommend anyone trying this.

Here's my link:

http://www.facebook.com/flight.haretasora

I'm the admin of a lolitas group although we will probably merge with one that is more active, that actually shared the same group name as us. They have over 90 members while we only had 13 or so.

Also, I'll probably make a facebook page for my youtube singing group Hareta Sora.

My Wishlist...

This list is seriously going to be SO long. These are all things I really really want. I tried to exclude most clothing. It's more of an accessory list.

First is this ADORABLE hat!!

I'm not sure if it comes with the bows on it (In other pictures it shows the ears plain) But either way it is SO SO SO CUTE! <3
You can find it here if you want it too (:

Next...

THIS WIG. OMG.
I'm not sure if it's fibers are really soft (since Bodyline is more known for clothing. I didn't even know they had wigs!) but the curls and length are so beautiful. Look how perfect the curls are!!

It's cheap so I know the quality won't be as good as the ones I'd spend a ton on, but it's so pretty and only $27! I could dress it up with a cute headband or bow.

If I got it, which color should I get? I wish they had lavender like the picture above modeling the bear hat.

A few videos...

Here are some Fairy Kei / Lolita videos that may be helpful (: These girls all have wonderful advice and fashion sense, so I'd suggest you go to their YouTube channels and check out their other videos!

Where to buy wigs and extensions!

This is pretty much going to be a review of the wigs that I own, as well as places I've heard good things about! This list will be updated when I find more. This list includes places I have bought wigs from, as well as others that I have heard are great! I will have a separate post reviewing the wigs that I own (:

  1. Gothic Lolita Wigs - http://www.gothiclolitawigs.com This is one of the favorites of many girls. They have a huge, and I mean HUGE variety of wigs. Along with tons of styles, each style comes in a whole bunch of colors. It is a USA based company so the shipping is very fast. The prices range between about $30 and $60. I think the Rhapsody wig is the most expensive, actually, and that's probably a little less than $60.

  1. Minty Mix - http://mintymix.com/ This company has a little less to choose from but all of the wigs are half one color and half another! I have not ordered from here but I do plan to someday. The half and half wigs are so adorable. The wigs are between about $30 and $50. The cheaper ones are more simple, while the expensive ones come with a lot more hair (clip-on pigtails/falls). They also have cute accessories and hats. A lot of people recommend this company.

  1. Cosplay.com Shop - http://shop.cosplay.com/  I found this site through someone's post in a forum. The awesome thing about this shop is that they have lots of style, and then you can order that style in one of their many colors. There's a color chart you can look at with several different shades of blues, pinks, reds, greens, browns, etc. Pretty much any color you can think of. On top of that, some wigs even come in blends and mixes! If you go to the color chart and scroll down they explain the different ways colors can be combined. Everything is very customized, so you can probably find something that suits you. Their fibers also look nice and soft. They run between $20 and $50.

  1. Laura Wuhttp://stores.ebay.com/laurawu-123 I've heard good things about this ebay shop. The cheapest wig is $18 and the most expensive is $39. Pretty much all of them have free shipping. There's a wide variety of wigs, some short ones and some extremely long, all the way to your toes! I especially like the ones with curly pigtails because the curls are just towards the bottom. They also have a lot of other extensions which I'll talk about below.
You can also get wigs from a lot of random little websites, so if you know of some that are less known but still worth buying from then contact me and tell me (:

WIG EXTENSIONS

Did you know that you can add even more color to your wigs with extensions?
You can lift up a section of hair in your wig, and sew the new hair weft to the wig cap.

These ones are from the Cosplay.com shop I mentioned above. They sell wefts, straight ponytails, and curly ponytails. However, when it comes to the clip-on ponytails, I would not recommend buying a base wig and two separate clip-ons to make twintails. It would probably just be cheaper to buy it all as a set. But buying them separate can be a good thing when it comes to certain colors. If you bought a black wig or white wig, for example, you could easily find a clip-on ponytail to order and add to your current wig. I wouldn't do this with most other colors though because the pink or blue you own may not be the same shade as the pink or blue this site sells.  Even if you don't have a wig from there, there are still tons of colors you can choose from so maybe you'll be able to find one that works.

Curly Ponytail:

This next one is Laura Wu again. There's a huge variety of extensions. Again, I would be careful when ordering clip-in ponytails because they may not match your wig. Here are a few of the extensions she sells.

NOTE: I am not including links to EVERY extension that this store sells, just a few so you get an idea. If you are interested, go to the actual ebay store and look at ALL the other varieties too.

There are also lots and lots of other places you can find wefts and extensions.

Why wear a wig?

By no means am I the most experienced person to ask, but you may have some questions concerning wigs. I own three, but I've done plenty of research on them. You probably have noticed that in a lot of pictures of girls dressed in Fairy Kei or Decora or Lolita that they are wearing a wig.

What makes wigs so wonderful:

  1. You can instantly change your entire hair style~! Match it to your outfit each day. Long, short, brown, pink, straight, curly... Anything you can imagine. Wear whichever one suits your mood that day!
  2. If you've always wanted to dye your hair a color but weren't allowed to, wigs are a wonderful way to go.
  3. If you are someone who always dyes your hair, wigs will probably turn out to be less expensive. If you wear maybe two wigs, say they cost you $40 each, for several months to a year, that is a whole lot cheaper than going to the salon every month or two to recolor your hair. You just have to take good care of your wigs (I'll make another post about care). Also, your hair can grow out and heal without being disturbed by chemicals.
I could probably add more to this list but I'm sure I would ramble on about my own personal wigs. I'll get to that later.

"But won't I get made fun of?"

(when it comes to both wigs AND the fashion)

Probably. Honestly, you'll get made fun of for anything "different" that you try to do. But eventually they'll get used to you and stop. On the bright side, people will admire you for your daring fashion sense, and really, you'll be absolutely adorable. This will be a great way to make new friends, as long as you keep smiling and be friendly! It's hard to be confident sometimes, but try to fake it until it becomes real. People will be jealous, but isn't that a good thing? People want to be confident like you, and be able to dress the way they've always wanted to too.

Back to the wig topic. If you really can't explain to people why you're wearing a wig, then just say something like, "I'm not allowed to dye my hair (because of parents, work, etc.) so I'm wearing this instead. Wigs are so convenient!" And smile like it makes you really happy :D

Also, chances are, if you're wearing a natural colored wig, people probably won't even ask.

My next post will be about WHERE to buy wigs!
